Eleftheria Rizou

Eleftheria Rizou holds a Master's Degree in choreography and is a graduate of the Russian Cultural Institute SPBSIC. She has obtained certification as a Fascia Therapist from the Greek College of Bodily Psychopedagogy, an annex of École Supérieure de Paris, and is a certified Fascial Fitness Trainer and pilates instructor. She has attended courses and seminars in classical dance, ideokinisis (Franklin method), barre à terre, and other bodily education techniques in Europe and the Americas, where she worked as a dancer and choreographer.

Eleftheria has been teaching dance since 1995 and was the art director of the G. Christophorides school from 2006 to 2019. She has been working on tai-chi, yoga, improvisational movement, and contact improvisation since 2010. She was a member of the improvisational troupe "Studio below zero" from 2000 to 2003 and participated in playback technique performances (HBH Theatre, Technopolis, etc.). She choreographed and danced "Frida," an award-winning video danse project, in 2001.

In 2007, Eleftheria founded the Bodytone Studio where she teaches pilates and movement techniques. In 2020, she concluded "Farewell," a video danse based on the performance "The Starecase" that was presented in Athens (May 2019). "Farewell" was included in many international festivals (in India, Russia, Spain, and elsewhere), as well as the Athens Video Dance Project. In 2022, she created and produced the ideo-kinetic performance "Red Thread," which was performed in Athens. The performance "Red Thread" encapsulates the course of a woman's life within the limits of a single space.

Eleftheria is a founding member and member of the Board of IA.TE (Greek Society of Dance Medicine), and a member of the editorial committee of the magazine "Chorygeia." She is also a founding member of the Greek Pilates Association. Since 2013, she has been a guest teacher at the Sizuoka Conservatory of Dance and the Izonokuni Youth Ballet in Japan. Finally, in April 2021, she co-organized the 3rd International Convention for Dance Education in association with the State Institute of Culture of Saint Petrograd, with which she still collaborates closely.
